The ceremony brought together pharma industry leaders from across Ireland to reflect on success throughout the sector from the previous year. Representatives from both GetReskilled and DIT were there to receive the award.

The Pharma Industry Awards 2018

The Pharma Industry Awards “recognise and celebrate the most original and innovative individuals and companies that demonstrate excellence in the Irish Pharma sector”. Founded in 2014, the awards attract the biggest names from across Ireland’s pharmaceutical sector.

The Education & Training Award, which was sponsored by the Parenteral Drug Association, is an award recognising “a significant contribution to the pharmaceutical sector through the provision of skilled workers.”

It is open to “any third level institution, technical training college or company involved in the delivery and development of pharmaceutical knowledge or skills.”. Previous winners include NIBRT and Waterford Institute of Technology.

It was an extremely tough category with several top institutions and pharmaceutical companies shortlisted including Pfizer, MSD and NIBRT.

Other winners on the night included:

  • Chanelle Group – Pharma Company of the Year – Large
  • Ipsen – Pharma Company of the Year – SME
  • Abbvie – Biopharma Company of the Year
  • MSD Brinny – Pharma Project of the Year – Large
  • Pfizer Ringaskiddy – Pharma Project of the Year – Small

Well done to all the winners as well as all companies shortlisted for awards.

Also a special note of congratulations to Paul Duffy of Pfizer who was announced as Pharma Leader 2018 for his “outstanding contribution to the growth of the industry”.

We are absolutely delighted to have won this award alongside our DIT colleagues, and look forward to training many more students for a successful career in Ireland’s pharmaceutical sector.
